This is Alan. We are in Labor and Deliver (it is now 9:45am). The doc said there will definitely be a baby today as he will not discharge Kristy at 4 cm, even if he has to break the water and introduce pitocin.
Tell Kristy that I do read her blog. (She told me to!) SOOOOOO EXCITED!
Instead of "Land Ho!" should be "Baby Ho!" today. Hmmm. Not quite the same ring. Okay, it sounds rather bad that way. Will have to come up with another pirate-y expression for today.
Ahab is making his entrance! It's really strange that I woke up in the middle of the night when this was all going down. I'm a really sound sleeper and never wake up in the middle of the night. If I do, I go right back to sleep. I woke up around 2 a.m. and could not get back to sleep. I laid there for a few minutes and then something told me to jump on PW and there was a new thread from Kristy postd just minutes earlier. I just knew it was real this time!! I picked up your vibe Kristy!
Just to let everybody know, Kristy had her baby at 9 last night. The baby is in the NICU for some breathing problems but it sounds like otherwise he is OK. I won't steal any more thunder from the parents, but I just wanted to give everybody the heads up and let you know that they are OK.
