A Blogger's Guide to Rocking Facebook in Under 5 Minutes

Most bloggers and business owners have a Facebook page for promoting posts.

If it takes you more than about five minutes per day to deal with the page or if you have to pay to promote your posts, you need to improve how you are using your Facebook page to save time and money!

Your Facebook page can be managed effectively in less than five minutes a day by simply scheduling posts.

SCHEDULE YOUR FACEBOOK POSTS

Step 1: Click "Publishing Tools."

Step 2: Click "Scheduled Posts."

Step 3: Click "+Create."

That's all there is to it. Add your content and schedule your posts. You can even schedule an end date for temporary posts (like a flash sale on Amazon or your Etsy site).

TIP: Make scheduling Facebook posts one of your daily goals.

IDEAS FOR SCHEDULED POSTS

*Blog Posts 

TIP: To ensure maximum reach, schedule right after something with a lot of activity, like a shareable meme or an interactive question.

Always encourage people to share your blog posts.

*Memes 

Memes from your niche or really funny memes do best.

Consider making your own with your blog link on the photo. (Or just share mine!)

Don't forget to ask people to share it!

*Interactive Questions

Questions should encourage posting immediately. 

For example, if you blog about planners, ask:

How many times have you touched your planner today? Write a number in the comments!

Don't forget to ask people to comment. 

Interaction matters for Facebook reach. Each time you ask, more fans take action than if you never asked.

*Affiliate Links

CAUTION: Only use these on public posts on Facebook Fan Pages (never in non-public groups or your personal page on Facebook) and with the caveat of including "aff link" as a disclosure.

Let your followers know if you think some item is a horrible idea. It works. People click on the link to see what you are discussing, buy other stuff, and you get paid.

For example, I might leave this link and comment:

"Why would anyone use these hanging folders in the multicolor/orange???

More clutter? Being forced to keep the colors and tabs in perfect order? More bulk in your files?

My OCD CANNOT handle it! I'll use plain ole file folders, thank you very much!

Of course, if you find an item that you love or a lot of people ask what you used in a particular project, share that link.

*Links to Your Favorite Blogs

Your readers likely enjoy reading similar stuff to what you blog about. Go ahead and let them know about other great blogs.

Not only is this an excellent service to readers, but sometimes the other blogger will figure out that you are tagging them and reciprocate.

*Personal Stories

Did your kid tell the teacher that mommy is a witch before coffee?

Did your husband spontaneously do all the laundry in the house?

Is your teenager making you crazy by overusing "yes ma'am" with clear disrespect?

Interesting glimpses into your life work for some blogs. If it works for yours, share that sort of stuff on Facebook pages.

(Obviously, other than positive stories about patrons, someone running a library's Facebook page shouldn't share personal stories. The same is true for many other businesses, so consider your Facebook page's goals before using this tip.)

FIVE FACEBOOK PAGE POSTS A DAY

Make your goal 5 different Facebook page posts, scattered throughout the day. Not everyone will see every post, so don't worry about over-posting.
